No Barriers Transnational Meeting in Eskişehir

The third international No Barriers meeting was held in Eskişehir, Türkiye, from the 20th to the 22nd of July.

On the 20th of July, the focus was on assessing training activities and finalizing the book for printing, including completing translations.

The meeting also featured presentations on educational and employment practices for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Türkiye. Additionally, the partners visited Rainbow Café, a local restaurant that employs people with intellectual disabilities, showcasing a viable employment model.

On the 21st of July, the discussions centered on solutions and training aimed at disseminating the project.

On the 22nd of July, the No Barriers partners visited a Vocational School and Cooperative for Young People with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autistic, Ozkan Halaç, Special Education Vocational School. This high school collaborates with the local employment agency to provide vocational training for students with mild intellectual disabilities and neurodivergent youths, focusing on skill development and future employment. This visit highlighted another effective employability model, specifically job coaching.
